Point Edward, ON – The Lambton COVID-19 Immunization Task Force met Tuesday, July 13 to discuss updates to the COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan in Lambton County. Here are some highlights from the meeting:

Lambton Public Health Opens COVID-19 Vaccine Standby List

Point Edward, ON – Lambton Public Health (LPH) is making it easier for residents to receive their first or second dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine at Lambton County clinics with the introduction of a new Vaccine Standby List.

Second Dose Registration Expands to Individuals 12 Years of Age and Older

Point Edward, ON – Lambton Public Health (LPH) is expanding second dose eligibility to youth 12-17 years of age who received their first dose of Pfizer at least 28 days ago (as per the recommended minimum interval). This move is in alignment with the Government of Ontario who announced the accelerated eligibility for this group on Friday (July 2) in order to provide them with a strong level of protection against COVID-19 and its variants, and support a safe return to school this fall.

COVID-19 Surveillance Reports on Canada Day

Point Edward, ON – Lambton Public Health is reminding the public that while COVID-19 contact tracing continues, the daily surveillance report will not be updated on Thursday, July 1 (Canada Day).
This follows a similar approach with reports from other Provincial health authorities and health units.

Second Dose Registration Open to Individuals 18 Years of Age and Older

Point Edward, ON – All individuals 18 years of age and older who received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 28 days ago (as per the recommended minimum interval) are eligible to book second dose vaccination appointments.
