Statement on the ongoing closure of Highway 402

Wyoming, ON – The County of Lambton is continuing to monitor the ongoing closure of Highway 402 between Nauvoo Road and Oil Heritage Road, a result of an ongoing protest on the highway.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are leading the response to this incident.
The County is liaising with stakeholders to maintain situational awareness and provide resource support to the OPP.

Sarnia, ON – Effective, Monday, February 14, 2022 the George Street entrance to the Lambton Shared Services Centre will be closed to all visitors and staff. This closure is to accommodate the progress of the new Lambton Shared Services Centre above ground parking lot.

Cold Weather Alert Issued for Lambton County - February 4, 2022

Point Edward, ON - Lambton County’s Medical Officer of Health has issued a COLD WEATHER ALERT for the region based on the latest forecast from Environment Canada predicting the temperature to meet the threshold of -15°C overnight.
The alert is expected to remain in effect until Saturday, February 5, 2022. The Medical Officer of Health will not issue a Cold Weather Alert termination.

Lambton County Library eliminates fines for overdue materials

Wyoming, ON - Lambton County Library will join hundreds of libraries across North America and will stop charging fines on overdue library materials starting March 1, 2022.
Fines will stop accruing and all existing fines will be removed from library card holder accounts on March 1. Patrons will still be responsible for returning library items on time and fees charged for lost or damaged materials will still apply.
