Completion of budget deliberations tabled until March 22

Wyoming, ON – Lambton County Council met this morning to begin consideration of the 2018 County Budget. After addressing several policy matters, Council approved a number of grant requests for 2018 before tabling the balance of its main budget deliberations until Thursday, March 22.
Council agreed to fund:
- $1,050,000 over 10 years to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation to assist with the acquisition of a new X-Ray Suite for Diagnostic Imaging.

2018 Draft Budget presented to County Council

Wyoming, ON - Lambton County Councillors will consider a proposed 2.43% net increase to the County property tax levy when they meet to discuss the 2018 Draft County of Lambton budget early next month.
The draft document was presented during a special joint meeting of Lambton County Council Standing Committees in Wyoming this morning.

Cold Weather Alert issued for Lambton County - February 7, 2018

Point Edward, ON - Lambton’s Medical Officer of Health has issued a COLD WEATHER ALERT for Lambton County based on the latest forecast from Environment Canada predicting the temperature to meet the threshold of -15°C overnight.
The alert will remain in effect overnight. The Medical Officer of Health will not issue a Cold Weather Alert termination.
Lambton Public Health advises local agencies that provide shelter and assistance to homeless people to prepare for an increase in demand during the alert.
