Cold Weather Alert issued for Lambton County - January 2018

Point Edward, ON - Lambton’s Medical Officer of Health has issued a COLD WEATHER ALERT for Lambton County based on the latest forecast from Environment Canada predicting the temperature to meet the threshold of -15°C overnight.
The alert is expected to remain in effect until Saturday, January 6, 2018. The Medical Officer of Health will not issue a Cold Weather Alert termination.

Sarnia, ON – The County of Lambton Community Development Corporation (CLCDC) Board of Directors has named Dr. Katherine Albion the next Executive Director of the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park (the Park).
Dr. Albion, who has served with the Park in a number of capacities since 2008, has accepted the position effective today (January, 2, 2018) and replaces Tom Strifler, who will retire after a short transitional period.

The free information session, open to the public, will be held May 28 at Living Hope Christian Reformed Church at 1281 Exmouth St. from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
It's being sponsored by the Poverty Reduction Network of Sarnia-Lambton.
A national plan called Dignity for All: A National Anti-Poverty Plan for Canada, has been by created by Citizens for Public Justice and Canada Without Poverty over the last five years, and its content will be presented at the two-hour session.

Renee Flynn knows all too well how difficult it can be to escape the vicious cycle of poverty.
Born into what she calls "generational poverty," Flynn was kicked out of her alcoholic mother's house at the age of 16 and fell in with a rough crowd, leading to drug experimentation and a string of abusive relationships.
