Household Hazardous Waste mobile depot coming to Lambton Shores - August 2018

Wyoming, ON - The popular Household Hazardous Waste Days, co-sponsored by the County of Lambton Public Works Department and Clean Harbors Canada Inc., will be changing locations in August and will offer Lambton County residents an opportunity to dispose household hazardous waste at no cost.
The one-day only Household Hazardous Waste Collection will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the County Public Works Depot located at 6958 Townsend Line, Lambton Shores.

Wyoming, ON - Starting in September, Lambton County Library will be slightly adjusting the hours of several library branches to meet operational needs.
While open for approximately the same number of hours per week, the following Library branches will open under new hours effective Tuesday, September 4, 2018:
Alvinston
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 2:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Arkona
Tuesday 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Thursday 3:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Sarnia Library presents free author readings

Sarnia, ON – Sarnia Library will be hosting live readings from various authors Saturday, August 25.
The event, beginning at 1 p.m. in the library's West Room, will feature the following authors:

Mosquito pool tests positive for West Nile Virus - August 2018

Point Edward, ON - Test results received today by Lambton Public Health confirm mosquitoes collected from a trap located in Wyoming on August 1 tested positive for the West Nile virus (WNV).
This is the second positive finding as part of WNV surveillance. A crow in Sarnia tested positive in late July.
WNV is spread to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito. Reduce your risk:

Local crow tests positive for West Nile Virus

Point Edward, ON – Test results received today by Lambton Public Health confirm a dead crow found in Sarnia's north end in late July tested positive for the West Nile virus (WNV). This is the first positive finding in 2018. No human cases of WNV have been reported in Lambton County this year.
