Heat Warning issued for Lambton County - September 2018

Point Edward, ON - Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a Heat Warning for Lambton County yesterday and is expected to last until Wednesday. In high temperatures and humidity, your body may not be able to cool properly which can lead to heat exhaustion or even heat stroke.
A heat warning is issued when two consecutive days are forecasted to have a daytime high temperature greater than or equal to 31⁰C and a nighttime temperature greater than or equal to 20⁰C or a humidex greater than 40.

Point Edward, ON - With the hot and humid weather continuing for today, Lambton Public Health has issued an Extended Heat Warning. In high temperatures and humidity, your body may not be able to cool properly which can lead to heat exhaustion or even heat stroke.
The warning will remain in effect until this evening when conditions are expected to ease.
An Extended Heat Warning is issued when a heat warning extends beyond two consecutive days. This is when vulnerable populations are most at risk.

Second mosquito pool tests positive for West Nile Virus

Point Edward, ON - Test results received today by Lambton Public Health confirm mosquitoes collected from a trap located in Corunna on August 23 tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV).
The presence of WNV has already been confirmed in Lambton County after a mosquito pool in Wyoming and a crow in Sarnia tested positive earlier this season.
WNV is spread to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito. Reduce your risk:
