Wyoming, ON - Lambton Shores Mayor Bill Weber will be serving a second consecutive term as Lambton County Warden.
Weber was acclaimed to the position by his peers on Lambton County Council this morning and will serve as the 158th Warden of Lambton County. The County Warden is the Head of Council for The Corporation of the County of Lambton.
"I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to Lambton County Council for the opportunity to serve in this capacity for another two years," said Warden Weber. "The County of Lambton has a proud tradition of respect and collaboration with all levels of government and it is my sincerest desire to advance that reputation over the next two years."
Warden Weber began his political career as a Councillor for Stephen Township in 1986, was elected Deputy Reeve of that municipality in 1992 and Reeve in 1995. He served on Huron County Council from 1992-1997. In 2000, Warden Weber was elected to serve on the newly amalgamated Lambton Shores Council and held the position of Ward 2 Councillor until 2010 when he was elected Mayor of Lambton Shores, a position he was re-elected to in 2014 and 2018.
Warden Weber, a retired dairy farmer, has been married to his wife Ginger for 44 years and together they have three children and five grandchildren.
Also at this morning's meeting, Enniskillen Township Mayor Kevin Marriott was elected to the position of Deputy Warden. Deputy Warden Marriott, a cash crop farmer, has served on Enniskillen Township Council for the last 24 years, including seven years as Deputy Mayor and the last seven years as Mayor.
