
Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, February 5, Lambton County Council:
- Heard presentations from:
- Sarah Reaume, Chief Executive Officer, Community Futures Lambton, regarding an update on organization programming and the announcement of a new County-wide initiative.
- Tony Gioiosa, on behalf of the Melrose Community Group, regarding the overflow shelter at the Laurel Lea Church.
- Adam Veen, Marketing Director, Tourism Sarnia-Lambton (TSL), with an update on TSL's activities and plans.
- Matthew Slotwinski, Chief Executive Officer, and Adrienne Lee, Board Chair, Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP), with an update regarding SLEP's activities and plans.
- Held the Annual General Meeting of The County of Lambton Community Development Corporation (CLCDC).
- Referred the costs for 12 hours of additional ambulance service to the 2025 Budget deliberations.
- Referred the costs to construct a new Lambton EMS Headquarters at the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park to the 2025 Budget deliberations, and authorized staff to begin land lease negotiations with the CLCDC.
- Directed staff to collaborate with local municipalities to address the library service planning considerations identified in the Joint Library Facilities Review – Progress Report and pursue potential funding opportunities, grants, or sponsorships for capital improvements to library spaces or design.
- Approved the 2025 Service and Fees Schedule.
- Asked staff to bring forward a report outlining ways to ensure the County’s procurement process prioritizes purchasing Canadian-made products, materials, and services, where possible.
Council will next meet in Open Session at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, for budget deliberations.
