Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, July 3, Lambton County Council:
- Heard presentations from:
- Robert Dickieson regarding implementation of traffic safety measures around London Road Public School, Sarnia.
- Ian Hanney, Program Supervisor, Homelessness Prevention and Social Planning, regarding the Lambton County Housing and Homelessness Progress Report 2023.
- Asked for staff to request a meeting with the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing to address the ongoing issue of housing and homelessness in Lambton County and to discuss the associated costs and funding for the development of affordable and supportive housing.
- Asked for staff to request a copy of Tourism Sarnia-Lambton’s audited financial statements for circulation to County Council.
- Approved the Small House Addition Project for Lambton Meadowview Villa at an estimated cost of $10.82 million, and authorized staff to begin pre-construction tasks. Staff will provide an update to Council during the September 2024 Committee of the Whole meeting.
- Adopted the County of Lambton Corporate Climate Change Adaptation Strategy.
- Updated the appointment By-Laws for Area Weed Inspectors and Chief Building Official and Inspectors.
Council will next meet at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. The meeting will begin with a Closed Session, if necessary, followed immediately by the Open Session.
