Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, July 5, Lambton County Council:
- Heard a presentation from Michael John Kooy, John de Groot, and Heather Martin, from the Rotary Club of Sarnia, and Brian Mundt, Wellington Ridge, Sarnia, regarding supportive and affordable housing and specific measures Council could adopt to bring permanent new housing to our community.
- Endorsed affordable housing and shelter as the number one priority of Lambton County.
- Authorized staff to submit a Housing Accelerator Fund application, with the goal to increase the supply of affordable housing in Lambton County.
- Adopted the proposed amendment and restatement of By-Law 16 of 1998 “A By-Law to Regulate Parking”, as contained in By-Law 24 of 2023, to allow for and provide temporary parking prohibitions on Lambton County highways.
- Approved the hiring of a full-time PC Specialist position within the Information Technology Department.
- Adopted an amended Signing Authority Policy.
- Received the Housing, Homelessness & Addictions Summit report, from the event held on March 21, 2023.
- Approved the minutes for the Audit Committee meeting held on Monday, June 26, 2023.
Council will next meet in Open Session at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
