Wyoming, ON – At its regular meeting on Wednesday, October 2, Lambton County Council:
- Heard presentations from:
- Kate Burns Gallagher, Executive Director, Western Ontario Wardens Caucus, regarding Western Ontario Wardens’ Caucus Strategic Priorities for 2024-2025, including accomplishments over the past year.
- Stephen Turner, Manager, Lambton Emergency Medical Services, regarding updates to Lambton EMS’ Deployment Plan.
- Sarah Churchill, Community Engagement Specialist, Social Services Division, regarding the Be Part of the Solution campaign.
- Supported Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership's application to the Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) pilot and Lambton’s participation in the REDI pilot program.
- Received an update from the Social Services Division regarding homelessness prevention and affordable housing.
- Approved the revised estimated cost of $12.22 million for the Small House Addition Project at Lambton Meadowview Villa.
- Accepted updates to the Lambton EMS Deployment Plan as presented to County Council and authorized staff to proceed with the necessary actions to improve resource utilization and response times.
- Directed that the Committee of the Whole structure continue on a permanent basis.
- Authorized staff to continue the moratorium on any new capital grants for the 2025 County Budget as a response to controlling and containing costs in the upcoming 2025 Budget.
Council will next meet at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. The meeting will begin with a Closed Session, if necessary, followed immediately by the Open Session.
