County of Lambton terminates State of Emergency

Wyoming, ON - At approximately 9:15 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, the County of Lambton terminated its State of Emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.

The County believes it is now positioned to respond to COVID-19 within its normal resources and processes. The County Emergency Control Group will continue to monitor the pandemic's impact on County operations and is prepared to escalate its response, should the local situation change.

While the County’s emergency declaration is ending, COVID-19 still very much exists and is expected to be with us long-term. Residents are advised to continue following public health interventions that are in place at the federal, provincial and local levels.

"Lifting the State of Emergency means the County believes it can incorporate the ongoing response to COVID-19 within our day-to-day operations without significant outside assistance," said Warden Kevin Marriott. "As we transition to the next phase of the pandemic, I would like to encourage the public to extend compassion and understanding towards those who are adapting to new routines at paces that may be different from our own."
