County welcomes new General Manager, Social Services

Wyoming, ON - Valerie Colasanti is joining the County of Lambton as General Manager, Social Services effective August 27, 2018.

Colasanti comes to the County from the Municipality of Chatham-Kent (Chatham-Kent) where she has served for nearly 30 years, including most recently as Director, Employment & Social Services for the last 15 years. During her time with Chatham-Kent, Colasanti has led a talented team of Program Managers and Supervisors who deliver a variety of social service programs including Income Support, Employment, Workforce Development, and Homelessness Prevention. She has also served as Co-Chair of the local Prosperity Roundtable as well as Housing and Homelessness Committees. She is highly regarded as a partner in the community and a champion of community engagement, development, and sustainability.

Colasanti obtained her Honours Bachelor of Arts from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. She has also earned her Certified Municipal Manager, CMIII designation from the Ontario Municipal Management Institute, among other designations.

The General Manager, Social Services oversees programs and services offered in the County's Housing Services, Ontario Works, and Social Planning & Children's Services Departments (including the Circles™ program).
