Wyoming, ON - S&P Global has again affirmed its 'AA-/Stable' credit rating for the County of Lambton.
In its 2018 review, S&P Global noted the County's 2017 budgetary performance was better than anticipated, with stronger operating margins and after-capital surpluses. It added that it believes the County has a "healthy liquidity cushion" that will allow it to advance its capital needs while maintaining a minimal debt burden through 2020.
"S&P Global's rating validates the effectiveness of the County's focus on delivering programs and services to the public in a sustainable, responsible manner," said County Treasurer John Innes.
The 'stable' outlook reflects the expectation that in the next two years the County of Lambton will maintain a "robust budgetary performance, supported by prudent financial management."
S&P Global updates its ratings annually based on a thorough investigation and review of the County's budget, finances and operations as well as the performance of the local economy.
