Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Wednesday morning to discuss updates in the current COVID-19 situation. The group will meet next on Friday, April 17, 2020 to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Received an update from Lambton County's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ranade, regarding the COVID-19 situation in Lambton County and reviewed the statistics available on the Lambton Public Health website.
- Was informed the Pandemic Working Group met last Thursday. This group will continue to meet weekly moving forward. Initial topics of discussion and action included reviewing the current PPE (personal protective equipment) supply across County sectors and auditing local municipalities' Emergency Response Plans to identify co-dependencies.
- Heard Lambton Public Health attended a meeting to discuss the Quarantine Act and review the process for travelers returning to Canada with local and federal partners.
- Received an update from Walpole Island First Nation regarding restrictions and control measures they have in place and plans moving forward.
