Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Friday morning to discuss updates in the current COVID-19 situation. The group will meet next week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Received an update from Lambton County's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ranade, regarding the COVID-19 situation in Lambton County. Current statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website.
- Heard that the current status of the outbreak declared at Lambton Meadowview Villa is unchanged. The Home is working closely with Lambton Public Health for guidance and following all protocols and policies put in place by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Long Term Care.
- Discussed questions surrounding essential services and permitted industries. This information continues to change with directives from the Provincial government. The most up to date information can be found at ontario.ca/page/list-essential-workplaces and any questions surrounding essential workplaces and impacts on businesses can be directed to the Stop the Spread Business Information Line at 1-888-444-3659.
- Discussed the process for recruiting and organizing community volunteers, if and when they are needed. The Pandemic Working Group will be working on establishing this process in the coming weeks.
