Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Monday morning to discuss updates in the current COVID-19 situation. The group will meet next on Wednesday and Friday this week to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Received an update from Lambton County's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ranade, regarding the COVID-19 situation in Lambton County. Current statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website.
- Received an update from fire services and Lambton EMS regarding the provincial database that is now available to first responders and dispatch centres. This database allows fire, EMS and police services to obtain COVID-19 positive status information about individuals with whom they are coming into contact. Current screening and protection practices will remain in place, with local first responders taking precautions and treating every call as though COVID-19 is present.
- Heard that staff are working to coordinate summer student positions aligned with the requirements of the federal Canada Summer Jobs program, while remaining flexible to adapt to the current COVID-19 situation. This work is ongoing.
For the most up to date information regarding COVID-19 including current statistics, please visit the Lambton Public Health website and the Province of Ontario website. Facility closures and a list of financial supports and resources are listed on the Lambton County website.
