Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Friday morning to discuss updates in the current COVID-19 situation. The group will meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday next week to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Received an update from Lambton County's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ranade, regarding the COVID-19 situation in Lambton County. Current statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website, including a detailed community snapshot.
- Heard that Lambton Meadowview Villa is no longer in outbreak, since the 14 day isolation period has passed, no additional positive cases have been received and no staff or residents are exhibiting symptoms.
- Discussed questions surrounding essential services and permitted industries. This information continues to change with directives from the Provincial government. The most up to date information can be found at ontario.ca/page/list-essential-workplaces and any questions surrounding workplaces and impacts on businesses can be directed to the Stop the Spread Business Information Line at 1-888-444-3659.
- Heard that the Social Services Division has been in contact with food banks in Lambton County to offer financial support. Many local food banks have expressed gratitude to their communities for continuous donations. Contact information can be found on the financial support and resources page of the County of Lambton website, including details on how to donate.
- Received an update from the Finance, Facilities and Court Services Division. Staff are continuing to monitor and adapt to the changing financial situation and are preparing a report to County Council regarding the effects of COVID-19.
