Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Wednesday, August 5 to discuss updates in the current COVID-19 situation. The group will meet again on Wednesday next week to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Received an update from Lambton County's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ranade, regarding the COVID-19 situation in Lambton County. Current statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website, including a detailed community snapshot.
- Discussed the increase in positive COVID-19 cases reported last Friday in Lambton County. Residents are reminded to continue practicing public health protection measures including physical distancing, proper hand hygiene, staying home when sick, wearing a mask where required or where physical distancing is not possible and limiting close contact to only the 10 people in your social circle.
- Heard that Lambton Public Health is actively working with local school boards as well as the Social Services Division to discuss the anticipated reopening of schools, before and after school programs and EarlyOn programs in September. Early stages of preparation and planning are taking place while awaiting finalized guidance and instructions from the Provincial government.
