Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Wednesday, February 10 to discuss updates in the current COVID-19 situation. The group will meet again on Wednesday next week to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Received an update regarding the current COVID-19 situation in Lambton County. Statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website, including a detailed community snapshot.
- Heard that the Mobile Immunization Team continues to administer COVID-19 vaccine to the first priority group in Phase 1 of the vaccine distribution plan - Indigenous Elder Care, Long-Term Care Home and high-risk Retirement Home residents. A combined 700 doses of vaccine were received Friday, February 5 and Monday, February 8.
- Discussed Lambton County's expected movement into the province's COVID-19 Response Framework on Tuesday, February 16. The group is awaiting additional details, including what colour level Lambton County will be placed in.
- Received an update on the work of the Lambton COVID-19 Immunization Task Force. The group continues work on planning fixed and mobile immunization clinic locations, and developing a unique drive-thru clinic model. Additional details will be provided as they are available. Please note that no clinics are currently open.
- Was reminded that Lambton Public Health has issued a Cold Weather Alert that remains in effect today, Wednesday, February 10. Please take proper precautions to protect yourself when you are outdoors.

Social Services staff are available to provide assistance navigating local resources for persons in need, assisting with food, shelter, basic needs, income support and referrals to all other Social Services as required.
