Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Wednesday, February 17 to discuss updates to the current COVID-19 situation. The group will meet again on Wednesday next week to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Received an update regarding the current COVID-19 situation in Lambton County. Statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website, including a detailed community snapshot.
- Heard the Lambton Immunization Task Force will receive three shipments of COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) in the next two weeks. Upcoming vaccine shipments will be allocated to other Phase 1 priority groups and providing a second doses to those who have received their first dose.
- Was informed that the Communications Sub-Group of the Immunization Task Force is developing a plan to educate the community on COVID-19 vaccines, as well as their availability. Additional plans are being developed to ensure that as vaccines become available, all eligible groups are aware of how they can get a vaccine. Please note - clinic sites are not yet open for immunizations. They will be operational once more vaccines become available, and as per the provincial government’s guidelines regarding eligibility and priority groups.
- Received an update on PPE supply levels from County divisions. All areas continue to maintain an adequate supply level.
