Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Wednesday, July 15 to discuss updates in the current COVID-19 situation. The group will meet again on Wednesday next week to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Received an update from Lambton County's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ranade, regarding the COVID-19 situation in Lambton County. Current statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website, including a detailed community snapshot.
- Discussed the guidelines and requirements for areas moving into Stage 3. Many areas in Ontario are moving to Stage 3 on Friday, July 17, however Lambton County is not included in this first group. Local businesses are encouraged to review the Stage 3 guidelines to prepare and plan for reopening when the County receives approval from the Province to move to Stage 3.
- Heard from the OPP that education remains their first approach to enforcement, and that most people are following the guidance of Public Health and the rules outlined for use of public spaces.
- Received an update from the working group reviewing personal protective equipment (PPE) needs in County divisions. Current PPE levels remain good in all areas, with some items in lower supply than others. The group continues to monitor supply to ensure adequate stock should there be an increase in demand.
