Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Monday, June 1 to discuss updates in the current COVID-19 situation. The group will meet again on Friday this week to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Received an update from Lambton County's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ranade, regarding the COVID-19 situation in Lambton County. Current statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website, including a detailed community snapshot.
- Discussed different reopening scenarios that have been proposed by the Provincial government, including the possible regionalized approach mentioned by the Province last week. Discussions will continue as more information and direction is released.
- Continued discussing the re-opening process and what it will look like for different County facilities and amenities. When more information is provided by the Province on phases 2 and 3 of the re-opening framework, plans will be put into place for re-opening County facilities to the public. Until more information is received, steps are being taken to prepare for re-opening based on the safety guidelines provided by the Province.
- Heard that Lambton County Library is preparing to offer contactless curbside pick-up service beginning Monday, June 8, 2020. Libraries remain closed to the public under provincial order. To access this service, library card holders must reserve materials in advance online or by phone. Additional details can be found in this news release.
