Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Monday, June 22 to discuss updates in the current COVID-19 situation. The group will meet again on Wednesday this week to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Received an update from Lambton County's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ranade, regarding the COVID-19 situation in Lambton County. Current statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website, including a detailed community snapshot.
- Discussed current and future PPE levels needed for several County divisions. These divisions will be reviewing current and anticipated needs and developing a process to identify sources, organize orders and track PPE requirements moving forward.
- Heard that the demand for childcare spaces will increase in the coming weeks due to limited capacity at childcare centres and many parents and caregivers returning to work in Stage 2 of the provincial reopening framework.
The Control Group would like to remind everyone to continue practicing individual public health safety measures as many businesses, services and public spaces reopen. This includes:
- Staying home when you are sick
- Using good hand hygiene
- Covering your cough or sneeze
- Practicing physical distancing by remaining at least 2 metres (6 feet) apart
- Considering wearing a face covering or a mask when physical distancing is a challenge
- Following all safety measures in place at businesses, services and public spaces
