Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Wednesday, June 23 to discuss updates to the current COVID-19 situation.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Heard that 110,129 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Lambton County, as of Wednesday, June 23. That represents 72% of adults aged 18+ and 17% of youth aged 0-17 years old in Lambton County who have received at least one dose of vaccine. 27% of adults aged 18+ have received two doses of vaccine.
- Would like to remind residents that all eligible individuals can register for their vaccine appointments at getthevaccine.ca. Current eligibility requirements are:
- First Dose: Everyone 12 years of age and older.
- Second Dose: Individuals who are 60 years of age and older or who received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on or before May 21.
- Heard that as of June 21, Lambton Public Health cannot guarantee individuals will receive a particular vaccine brand for either their first or second dose. This is due to the unpredictability of vaccine shipments from different suppliers.
- Discussed the Province’s movement into Step 2 of the provincial Roadmap to Reopen. The date of this transition has not yet been confirmed by the Province. Please continue to follow basic public health measures to protect yourself and others.
- Would like to remind residents that local statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website, including a detailed community snapshot.
