Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Wednesday, March 10 to discuss updates to the current COVID-19 situation. The group will meet again on Wednesday next week to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Heard a brief update on current operations at COVID-19 vaccination clinics sites in Lambton County. Lambton Public Health (LPH) and Bluewater Health piloted a new fixed site clinic model on March 8 which, if successful, would allow for significant expansion on the current prototype including the ability to immunize larger volumes of people.
- LPH is currently working to plan, design and implement this new model at the Point Edward clinic on March 22 and, if effective, may use it to scale up other clinics in Lambton County.
- Heard that Dr. Ranade will be participating in a radio call-in session with CHOK on Tuesday, March 16 at 8:30 a.m. to answer questions from the community about COVID-19. More details are available on the Lambton Public Health website.
- Received an update on PPE supply levels from County divisions. All areas continue to maintain an adequate supply level.
- Would like to remind residents that local statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website, including a detailed community snapshot.
