Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Wednesday, March 17 to discuss updates to the current COVID-19 situation.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Received an update on current operations at COVID-19 vaccination clinics sites in Lambton County. A new fixed-site clinic model that will enable immunization of larger volumes of people will be implemented at the Point Edward clinic on March 22. If effective, it may be used to scale up other clinics in Lambton County.
- Heard that 12,653 immunizations have been given to date in Lambton County, including 11,402 first doses and 1,251 second doses. Currently, individuals in the 75+ age range along with one in-home caregiver who resides in the same household are eligible for their vaccines. Eligible individuals can book appointments online.
- Discussed the County's movement into the Grey-Lockdown level of the COVID-19 Response Framework. The restrictions enacted by this level are intended to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community. Everyone is asked to limit close contact to only those in your household and maintain 2 meters distance with all others. Do not gather indoors with anyone you do not live with.
- Would like to remind the community that enforcement measures are in place to ensure everyone is adhering to the regulations under the Grey-Lockdown level of the COVID-19 Response Framework.
- Would like to remind residents that local statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website, including a detailed community snapshot.
