Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met this morning to discuss updates in the current COVID-19 situation. The group is scheduled to next meet on Friday this week to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be arranged if needed.
The Control Group discussed the County's current Influenza Pandemic Plan and how portions of this plan can be applied to the COVID-19 situation moving forward. The early stages of the plan are already in place. Talks will continue in the coming days to ensure the best course of action is taken in response to the rapidly changing situation.
Shortly after the meeting concluded, the group was informed by Lambton Public Health that positive test results were received for 5 individuals currently receiving care at Bluewater Health. The joint news release from Lambton Public Health and Bluewater Health can be viewed in the news section of the Lambton Public Health website.
The investigation into these cases by Lambton Public Health is ongoing and further information will be provided to the community as soon as it becomes available.
Our Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ranade, continues to strongly encourage the community to practice enhanced social distancing and good hygiene. Regular handwashing, not touching your face and keeping at least 2 metres distance from others will help protect both yourself and the community.
For the most up to date information regarding COVID-19, please visit the Lambton Public Health website and the Province of Ontario website. Facility closures will be listed on the Lambton County website.
