Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Monday morning to discuss updates in the current COVID-19 situation. The group is scheduled to meet on Wednesday and Friday this week to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be arranged if needed.
At the time of the meeting, there were 28 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Lambton County and four COVID-19 related deaths. Visit the Lambton Public Health website for further information and the most recent updates.
The investigation into these cases by Lambton Public Health is ongoing. Public Health staff are continuing to work diligently to contact any individuals that may have been in close contact with these confirmed cases. Please note that Public Health's outgoing phone ID is listed as “private”, so you may receive a call from them with this identification.
The Control Group received an update from Lambton EMS regarding donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from local businesses. Group members are investigating the possibility of using some Lambton County Library Makerspace equipment to help create PPE needed by our staff and healthcare partners. More information on this initiative will be provided as it is available.
Our Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ranade, continues to strongly encourage the community to practice enhanced physical distancing and good hygiene. Regular handwashing, not touching your face and keeping at least 2 metres (6 feet) distance from others will help protect both yourself and the community.
For the most up to date information regarding COVID-19, please visit the Lambton Public Health website and the Province of Ontario website. Facility closures will be listed on the Lambton County website.
