Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Wednesday, May 26 to discuss updates to the current COVID-19 situation.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Heard that over 68,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Lambton County, as of Wednesday, May 26. This is approximately 59% of adults aged 18+ in Lambton County who have received one or more doses of vaccine.
- Discussed current COVID-19 case counts in Lambton County. Increases in cases are fluctuating on a daily basis, and the virus is still circulating in the community. Please continue to follow basic public health measures to protect yourself and others.
- Heard that Lambton Public Health is closely monitoring vaccine supply in conjunction with available vaccine clinic appointments. New appointments for vaccine clinics are regularly opened. People booking appointments electronically are encouraged to check the Lambton Public Health website daily for new appointment availability.
- Heard that on Thursday, May 27 at 8:30 a.m., Dr. Ranade is participating in another live Q&A Community Call-in Radio Show with CHOK’s Sue Storr. Tune into CHOK to listen live or call into the radio program to ask a question at 519-464-1070. Employees from Lambton Public Health and Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will also be featured in the coming weeks on Sue Storr’s radio segment feature, “Behind the Mask”.
- Noted that the County of Lambton’s long-term care homes resumed outdoor visits for residents over the weekend. To book a visit and learn more about visiting guidelines, visit https://www.lambtoncares.ca.
- Would like to remind residents that local statistics are available on the Lambton Public Health website, including a detailed community snapshot.
