Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group met Wednesday, May 6 to discuss updates in the current COVID-19 situation. The group will meet next on Friday this week to discuss new developments and planning requirements. Additional meetings will be scheduled if needed.
At these meetings, the Emergency Control Group:
- Discussed the level of testing taking place in Lambton County in regards to the statements made at the Provincial news conference May 5. Staff will be circulating information to the Control Group regarding testing levels in Lambton County, including increased testing at Long-Term Care homes that has been completed in the past weeks.
- Heard that staff continue to await details from the Province on how the pandemic pay increase will be implemented.
- Heard that several members of County Council are participating in a call with the Provincial government this afternoon regarding travel to cottages and second properties.
- Received an update from Long-Term Care, EMS and Social Services that current PPE levels remain satisfactory, however this may change depending on how the COVID situation progresses.
