Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Emergency Control Group (CECG) met Wednesday, November 10 to discuss updates to the current COVID-19 situation.
At this meeting, the Emergency Control Group:
- Heard that 192,708 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Lambton County, as of Wednesday, November 10. That represents 83.9% of individuals aged 12+ that have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 80.8% of individuals aged 12+ that have received two doses.
- Reviewed current eligibility for third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, which includes: Individuals 70 years of age and older; health-care workers and designated essential caregivers in congregate settings (including long-term care home and retirement home staff and designated caregivers); First Nation, Inuit and Metis adults including their non-Indigenous household members; and anyone who received two doses of AstraZeneca or one dose of Janssen.
- Would like to remind residents that all eligible individuals can continue to register for a vaccine appointment or attend a drop-in clinic. Full details are listed at getthevaccine.ca.
- Discussed the COVID-19 compliance blitz that took place throughout the County from November 4 - 6. The enforcement campaign included 164 inspections and resulted in five charges. Information on the Reopening Ontario Act and Proof of Vaccination enforcement is available on the Lambton Public Health website.
- Heard Lambton Public Health is awaiting direction from the Province regarding administering immunizations to youth aged 5 through 11. Planning and preparations are ongoing to organize vaccination clinics catering to this age group.
