Wyoming, ON - Lambton County Library cardholders can now use their library cards to borrow telescopes from their local library.
Telescopes are used to view terrestrial and celestial objects such as planets, the moon, and stars. The Library’s Telescope Kits include a Celestron Travel Scope 80 Telescope, a tripod, and a smartphone adapter for taking photos.
“Our new Telescope Kits aim to spark curiosity and encourage exploration of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics,” said Darlene Coke, Manager, Library Services. “The compact size and convenient backpack carrying case make stargazing accessible and enjoyable for all ages and experience levels. This month is a great time to borrow a Telescope Kit, as the Perseid meteor shower is expected to peak around August 12 and 13.”
Telescope Kits can be borrowed for up to seven days with a valid Lambton County Library card. Library cards are free for anyone who lives, works, studies, owns property in Lambton County, or is a resident of a First Nations community in Ontario.
