Sarnia, ON – A new Family Saturday activity will be taking place at the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery this August. Beginning August 5, drop-in to the art studio at the Gallery every Saturday afternoon between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. for a short, artist-facilitated studio activity inspired by the Humans of Lambton exhibition.
Over these four Saturdays in August the focus will be on Cyanotype Portraits. Inspired by Steven Livick’s iconic portraits, participants will create photographic prints using one of the oldest processes in the history of photography, cyanotype printing. These prints are distinctive because of their shade of cyan blue, a result of exposure to ultraviolet light.
Family Saturdays are free and open to everyone, though children must be accompanied by an adult. For information on upcoming Family Saturdays, visit the program and events page on the JNAAG website. A new activity will be offered in September.
For information about the Humans of Lambton exhibition, visit the JNAAG website, follow the Gallery on Facebook, and visit the exhibit, opening to the public on August 4.
The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery’s hours of operation are Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Admission is free.
