Sarnia, ON – The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery would like to remind the public of their last chance to view the third of six exhibitions in the Re View series. The exhibition, which opened May 5 of this year will close Sunday, July 23, 2023.
This captivating exhibition invites visitors to delve into the theme of identity through dramatic portraits, thought-provoking en plein-air paintings, mesmerizing folklore-inspired and abstract paintings by local Lambton County-based artists. The exhibition features paintings by renowned area artists Gary Nixon and Norman Barney, as well as historic works by Pegi Nicol MacLeod and Mary Abraham. Photography enthusiasts can also enjoy a selection of Stephen Livick's stunning large-scale portraits.
The Gallery will be installing three more exhibitions in the Re View series over the next year and a half. These exhibitions place the Gallery’s permanent collection in the spotlight and celebrate the ten years since Gallery Lambton changed into JNAAG at the transformed Thom building in downtown Sarnia. Each of the six exhibitions features a range of artworks from the permanent collection that are accompanied by audio tours written and voiced by gallery volunteers.
Members of the Gallery receive behind-the-scenes Re View exhibition content, including member-exclusive audio tours. For information on how to become a gallery member, please contact Yesenia Samuel at 519-336-8127 ext. 3231 or by email.
