Sarnia, ON – The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery invites the public to register for a slow view tour of R. Viven Howard’s painting Lily Pond on Thursday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m. as part of the fifth installment of the Re View exhibition, set to open on Friday, February 2.
A slow view tour allows your mind to settle on one work, and rediscover the joy of looking at art. The tour will be led by a trained facilitator and lasts approximately 30 minutes. Participants will take a seat in front of a single artwork and be expertly led through a series of questions which will help them discover something new about the art in front of them, and maybe even about themselves.
“A slow view tour offers more than just a moment with the art, it provides a sanctuary for introspection,” says Anna Miccolis, Community Art & Education Coordinator with Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery. “With Lily Pond by R. Viven Howard as our focus, we invite participants to embrace the unhurried beauty of each stroke, fostering a connection that transcends the canvas.”
To register, visit the tour page on the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery website. For more information on the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery, visit jnaag.ca or follow the Gallery on Facebook and Instagram.
The Gallery operating hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with extended hours on Thursdays until 8:30 p.m.
