Sarnia, ON - Today, more than 12,500 Lambton County students, led by 201 at Bosanquet Public School in Thedford, celebrated healthy food choices at school with a Great Big Crunch.
The synchronized crunch of fresh, local apples showcased the importance of healthy eating and highlighted the role of the Student Nutrition Program to provide healthy food choices.
“The Great Big Crunch is a health-packed event that celebrates nutrition and school harmony," said Leslie Palimaka, Health Promotion Assistant with Lambton Public Health. "Every school day, nutrition programs in Lambton provide FREE healthy food to help prepare students for a full day of learning."
Lambton's Student Nutrition Program is financially supported by the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services and delivered through Lambton Public Health and the Ontario Student Nutrition Program. The Great Big Crunch receives financial support from the Ontario Student Nutrition Program.
