Household Hazardous Waste Mobile Depot coming to Lambton Shores - October 15, 2022

Wyoming, ON - The County of Lambton Public Works Department and Clean Harbors Canada Inc. will be hosting a mobile Household Hazardous Waste collection event in Lambton Shores this month to offer an additional opportunity for Lambton County residents to dispose of their household hazardous waste at no cost.

This one-day only mobile Household Hazardous Waste Collection event will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the County Public Works Depot located at 6958 Townsend Line, Lambton Shores.      

"Corrosive, toxic, reactive and flammable materials will be collected at the mobile depot," said Matt Deline, Public Works Manager, County of Lambton. "These items should never be placed in a regular landfill because they have the potential to injure sanitation workers and the potential to damage our environment."

Examples of these types of materials include:

Items NOT accepted include PCBs, commercial, industrial, and radioactive wastes, electronics, and explosives (flares and ammunition).

Event attendees are asked to continue to follow physical distancing protocols, including the following:

1. Packaging materials in disposable containers (i.e. cardboard boxes) as they will not be returned;
2. Placing materials in the trunk or back of their vehicle to maximize distancing for event staff when collecting items; and
3. Remaining in their vehicle at all times, as event staff will be removing materials from their vehicle.
