Sarnia, ON – The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery is hosting a Singing Docent Tour during First Friday on August 4, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Docents, gallery volunteers who lead guided tours through the Art Gallery, are providing a unique opportunity for visitor’s to enjoy a singing tour of the Gallery’s current John Hartman exhibition, Many Lives Mark This Place. Participants can sing-along or simply enjoy the music as they learn about what inspired the song and painting pairings.
“The singing docent tour highlights the ways that different artistic mediums can complement each other, while also providing a dynamic way to access and interact with the exhibition,” said Sonya Blazek, Curator/Supervisor at Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery.
On First Friday, the gallery is open from 11 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. The Gallery’s regular operating hours are Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m., and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.
