Sarnia, ON – The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery is inviting youth aged 9-13 to take part in the upcoming TNT Summer Splash Workshops. TNT stands for Try New Things and in these workshops, participants will develop their creative skills, make new friends, and explore their community. This free program, led by local artists, is filled with a variety of exciting new experiences that allow youth to discover new passions.
Workshops include:
Zine Machine with Lauren Davidson
Tuesday, August 2, 9:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Artist Lauren Davidson will inspire participants to create a self-published booklet featuring something they are passionate about. The group will learn about the history of zines and experiment with techniques and materials.
Fiber Selfies with Patricia Cook
Wednesday, August 3, 9:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Artist Patricia Cook will guide participants through the art of wool felting to create a fiber art selfie. They will learn the dry felting technique and experiment with fiber blending.
Part of the Big Picture with Daisy Fresh
Thursday, August 4, 9:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Artist Daisy Fresh will show participants how to experiment with paints and modeling wax and use the inherent geometry of organic forms. The unique pieces will become a collaboration and create an unexpected result when looking at the different parts that form a whole.
Photography Fun with Sierra Rei Hart
Friday, August 5, 9:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Photographer Sierra Rei Hart will shed light on how photos are created. Participants will be crafting and playing a myriad of games, bringing together the art of photography and fun for all.
