Wyoming, ON – Enniskillen Township Mayor Kevin Marriott will be serving a second consecutive term as Lambton County Warden.
Marriott was acclaimed to the position by his peers on Lambton County Council Wednesday morning and will serve as the 160th Warden of the County of Lambton. The County Warden is the Head of Council for The Corporation of the County of Lambton.
"I am honoured to serve as Warden for another two years and I look forward to continuing to provide strong leadership for our community," said Warden Marriott. “More than ever, Lambton County Council will have to work together as a team to meet the challenges, changes and opportunities that lie ahead. We have so much to be thankful for here in Lambton County. With hard work, collaboration, and ingenuity we will continue to make Lambton County the caring, growing, and innovative community we know and love.”
Warden Marriott, a cash crop farmer, has served on Enniskillen Township Council for the past 28 years, including seven years as Deputy Mayor and the last 11 years as Mayor.
Also at Wednesday morning's meeting, City of Sarnia City/County Councillor Brian White was elected to the position of Deputy Warden. Deputy Warden White began his political career with the City of Sarnia in 2014. In 2018 he was re-elected to Sarnia Council and also first elected to Lambton County Council.
Deputy Warden White takes pride in his community activism, participating in many organizations throughout Lambton County. He has acted as Board President for St. Clair Child and Youth Services, Chair of the Family Advisory Committee for CPRI, as well as serving on Sarnia's Save The Jail Committee, and Male Ally Coalition for the Sexual Assault Survivor’s Centre.
