Wyoming, ON – Lambton County Library is featuring local independently published authors with its new Indie Author collection. The curated collection is designed to showcase local authors and offer access to a range of diverse literary voices to the community.
"Lambton County Library recognizes the importance of fostering local creativity. By featuring independently published authors from the area, we hope they can reach new audiences," said Kevin Coates, Public Services Coordinator – Collections. "To be included in the collection, authors must be residents of Lambton County."
To celebrate the launch of this collection, Lambton County Library is hosting an Indie Author Night on Friday, October 4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sarnia Library. The special event will feature a presentation of 94 titles, including adult fiction, non-fiction, and children's titles from 16 local authors, giving the community a first look at the collection.
In addition to revealing the collection, the evening will feature a pop-up book sale, where books can be purchased directly from local authors. There will also be a panel discussion on self-publishing, with local authors Gloria Pearson-Vasey, Susan E Wright, and Mark Aarssen sharing insights into the independent publishing process.
