Wyoming, ON - Lambton County Library is encouraging residents to rediscover the infinite possibilities a library card brings and rolling out a newly designed library card.
New cardholders and existing cardholders who replace their card have a chance to win a $500 Tourism Sarnia-Lambton gift voucher, which is valid at over 300 retail, restaurant, attraction and accommodation locations across Lambton County.
Books are just the beginning with a Lambton County Library card. In addition to providing access to over 210,000 books, cardholders can also borrow DVDs, Ontario Parks passes, electronic resources such as eBooks, eAudiobooks, video streaming services, online courses, databases and journals, and access programs and services including computer workstations.
Starting May 2, members of the community can enter to win by visiting their local library to replace their current library card, sign up for a library card or renew an expired membership. An additional five Tourism Sarnia Lambton gift vouchers, valued at $100 each, will also be up for grabs. Patrons can enter to win this portion of the draw by checking out an item from the library. One extra chance to win will be provided each time a patron checks out an item from the library’s physical collection during the six-week promotion of the redesigned library cards, which will run from May 2 – June 12, 2022. All small print rules and criteria of library card membership can be found at lclibrary.ca/discover.
“Navigating the COVID-19 pandemic over the last two years has impacted our library system from closures, to limited service delivery through curbside pickup, and the postponement of in-person programs,” said Darlene Coke, Manager, Library Services. “With this new library card promotion, we are excited to welcome everyone back into our spaces and introduce new users to our spaces and the wide variety of services we offer. This is a great opportunity for patrons to update their contact information, see the results of renovations to Corunna, Wilkesport, Alvinston, Forest and Petrolia Libraries and take advantage of the recreational and educational opportunities libraries provide.”
Lambton County Library cards are free for anyone who lives, works, attends school or owns property in Lambton County or lives in a First Nations community in Ontario.
The draw for the $500 grand prize voucher, as well as the $100 prize vouchers, will take place on new Monday, June 13, 2022.
