Lambton Heritage Museum hosts art installation Hope and Healing in Canada

Grand Bend, ON – Lambton Heritage Museum will host an art installation by Métis artist Tracey-Mae Chambers as part of her Hope and Healing in Canada series. The art exhibit will be displayed on the Museum grounds from June 12 to September 1.

Chambers’ distinctive installations are created with red wool, silk, and cotton yarn that has been crocheted, knit, or woven. Her work has been displayed in dozens of locations across Canada, including the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery in Sarnia in 2022. Each piece is temporary and site-specific. The installations invite us to consider concepts of hope and healing, and subjects including decolonization and reconciliation. Chambers’ work is informed and inspired in part by her path of discovery to her own Métis heritage.

This installation in the Hope and Healing in Canada series can be viewed at Lambton Heritage Museum between June 12 and September 1.
