Grand Bend, ON – Lambton Heritage Museum is hosting the PA Day event Spring Stretch Kids Yoga on Friday, April 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
To celebrate the arrival of spring, the Museum is hosting four, half-hour yoga sessions for school-aged children led by Linda Weir of Expedition Inner Wisdom. Sessions begin at 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.
Children will learn nature-inspired yoga poses including tree pose, seed pose, and butterfly pose. The interactive sessions will encourage children to reflect on the changing world outside. Yoga mats will be provided and no prior experience is necessary.
“Yoga is a great form of exercise, and we are excited to host sessions for children. This is an opportunity for kids to try a new physical activity and have some fun,” said Colleen Inglis, Educational Program Coordinator at Lambton Heritage Museum. “We are also encouraging kids to reflect on nature and the relationship between themselves and other living beings.”
Lambton Heritage Museum is located in a significant 30-acre parcel of a unique oak savanna ecosystem. Merging this vital natural heritage with children’s programming is an important aspect of the museum education mandate.
Visitors are encouraged to drop-in for the session of their choice with no registration required. Regular museum admission rates apply for this event. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors and students, $3.00 for children and $15.00 for families. Children three and under are free.
