Wyoming, ON - Lambton Heritage Museum and the Oil Museum of Canada, National Historic Site, are excited to announce family-friendly special events on the upcoming PA Day, on Friday, June 7, 2024.
Lambton Heritage Museum will host the PA Day event “Movies at the Museum: Luca,” with an afternoon screening of the Disney Pixar film Luca at 1:00 p.m. Set on the Italian Riviera in 1959, this PG-rated animated film has a run-time of 95 minutes and features sea monsters, pasta, a triathlon, and more. Families can enjoy free popcorn during the film, and a themed craft activity will be available before and after the screening. Participants are also encouraged to explore the feature exhibit Il Cammino: From Italy to Sarnia-Lambton, which tells the stories of Italian families that immigrated to Sarnia-Lambton over the last century.
Lambton County residents receive free admission to this event in celebration of the 175th anniversary of Lambton County. Regular admission will otherwise apply. Admission to Lambton Heritage Museum is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors (65+) and students, $3 for children, and children aged three and under are free.
The Oil Museum of Canada will host the PA Day event “Innovation and Science in the Petroleum Industry” in partnership with Shell Canada. Participants can drop-in at the Museum between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to discover the science behind refining and distillation. Families can participate in an exciting scavenger hunt activity inside the Museum and through the grounds, create a seashell pet, and watch a fluidized bed demonstration. Experts from Shell will be present to share their refinery insights and knowledge. With thanks to Shell for their generous sponsorship, this event is free for all participants.
