Point Edward, ON - Lambton Public Health (LPH) is announcing that Dr. Sudit Ranade has resigned his position as Medical Officer of Health for Lambton County, effective June 30, 2022.
Recruitment processes in the search for a qualified replacement have already begun, and Dr. Ranade will remain in an acting capacity with LPH to assist the County in the transition of his duties and responsibility.
“We will certainly miss Dr. Ranade’s leadership, knowledge, compassion, and dedication to public health and the Lambton County community,” said Andrew Taylor, General Manager for the Public Health Services Division of the County. “His ability to lead and transform our organization over the past decade and through a global pandemic has set us up for success for years to come.”
Since being hired in September of 2012, Dr. Ranade has helped guide LPH in the adoption of new strategic priorities and was instrumental in the development and implementation of the organization’s first strategic plan. This plan helped formalize the process for reviewing organization practices and identifying public health priorities.
“We’re grateful to have had Dr. Ranade as a part of our team over the past 10 years. Particularly, I commend him for his superb leadership and guidance throughout the last 26 months when faced with the COVID-19 pandemic,” said County of Lambton Warden and Chair of the Board of Health, Kevin Marriott. “We wish Dr. Ranade all the best in his new position, and I would like to extend thanks on behalf of the County for his service to the community.”
“The health of our community continues to be the focus for Lambton Public Health,” added Andrew Taylor. “While Dr. Ranade’s knowledge and ability will be a challenge to replace, we strive to find the right fit for our community and our staff are well-positioned to provide Lambton County residents with the public health programming and services they rely on.”
