Point Edward, ON - Lambton Public Health is pleased to launch its new website - lambtonpublichealth.ca - to better reflect the role of public health in the community, to improve functionality, and to enhance overall user experience.
"We brought together content from a number of program areas to be more focused on general information needs, while offering multiple pathways to connect to public health for more specific questions and concerns," said Dr. Sudit Ranade, Lambton County's Medical Officer of Health. "We also wanted to highlight work people may not always see, but is part of the core of public health, like collaborating with schools and municipalities to improve the health of children, families, and our community."
Public health's role involves supporting the community, clients, and stakeholders with information and services that relate to them. To support the conversation Health Information is organized according to the user:
- You, or your child's health
- Settings - workplaces, restaurants, schools and daycares, etc.
- Stakeholders - public health partners such as health-care providers and educators
The Event section organizes our service delivery programs, including clinics, classes and community events. Helpful tools and features provide the user:
- Access to online booking (where applicable)
- Online payment processing
- Scheduling options
The News section includes press release notifications, and feature stories that provide updates, additional background information, or new community development.
The Public Reports section consolidates an increased demand in inspection and disclosure requirements. An interactive map allows users to view results of public health inspections such as food premises and beaches in near real-time accuracy.
Future site upgrades include:
- Secure content section for stakeholders (e.g., health-care providers and schools)
- Data reports with information displayed in a user-friendly "dashboard" style
