Sarnia, ON – The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery is inviting adults of all art skill levels to participate in an upcoming Solvent Free Oil Painting workshop on Thursday, January 25 from 6 – 8 p.m.
Lead by area artist Emily Lardner, this workshop will explore alternatives to using solvents in oil painting, as well as the cleanup process. Whether a true beginner or having painted with oils for years, this workshop will set participants up for a safe practice, showing you how easy the switch to solvent-free can be. We will experiment with different techniques and materials and discuss the history of the old masters and how they worked with oils before the introduction of solvents. Participants will paint still life arrangements inspired by the paintings of Frances-Anne Johnston, who is featured in the current exhibition “A Family Palette”.
All supplies are included with the registration fee of $75 per person, plus tax. Discounts are available for JNAAG members.
To register, visit the event page on the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery website. For more information on the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery, visit jnaag.ca or follow the Gallery on Facebook and Instagram.
