Sarnia, ON – On Monday, October 23, the County of Lambton Children’s Services Department hosted a county-wide Early Childhood Educators & Child Care Workers Professional Development Day at the Four Points by Sheraton in Point Edward. This event was held in recognition of the 23rd annual Provincial Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day.
“Our local child care staff have exceptional skills and play a crucial role in the growth and development of thousands of children across Lambton,” said Melissa Fitzpatrick, Manager of Children’s Services at the County of Lambton. “A dedicated day for professional development amongst child care and early years staff is a well-deserved opportunity to celebrate the dedication of staff, provide informative sessions to enhance knowledge, and come together as a unified early years community”.
440 early learning professionals participated in this in-person event, titled Transforming How We Think About Relationships in Early Learning and Care, which included sessions with speakers Dr. Jean Clinton, Anne Marie Coughlin, and Lorrie McGee Baird. The day was filled with opportunities for early learning professionals to engage in thoughtful conversations and deepen their knowledge and skills.
The Homelessness Prevention and Children’s Services department works to build and grow an early years and child care system that is responsive to the current and future needs of children and families in Lambton County. Learn more at lambtononline.ca/childcare.
